General Responsibilities:

Support GMST in the development, deployment and control of Key Strategic Projects 

The IT Project manager is responsible for various aspects of technical projects within GMST. The IT Project Manager supports the projects throughout various stages for the timely delivery of technical aspects of projects within budget, and according to business requirements, to deliver successful execution. The position is an entrepreneurial combination of exceptional technology project management knowledge and strong interface skills that must be accomplished. Define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. Initiate, develop, update and manage project plans including information such as project objectives, technologies, system specifications, schedules, funding, and staffing. Manage project execution stages to ensure adherence to budget, project timeline, and scope; monitor progress to ensure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met. Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Establish and execute a project communication plan. May lead and guide the work of technical staff; serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects.

The physical requirements of the position include sedentary work that requires lift, carry, pull, push 1 to 10 pounds occasionally, sitting frequently and walk and stand up occasionally.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer science of engineering or Information Systems
  • Bachelor’s in business administration - MBA preferred
  • PMP Certification Preferred
  • 5-10 years valid strong IT experience

Knowledge and Skills Required:

· Knowledge in Microsoft Office and ability to prepare effective presentations

· Manages the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple or large-scale projects

· Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential. 

· Manages day-to-day client interaction and expectations for multiple or large-scale projects

· Minimizes our exposure and risk across multiple projects

· Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans

· Manages and analyzes profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization across projects

· Reviews high-level deliverables across projects

· Working knowledge of both the theoretical and practical aspects of project management

· Proven experience with people management, strategic planning, risk management and change management

· Ability to work independently and aggressively track to project timelines

· Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail

· Ability to analyze complex problems

· Customer service skills an asset.

· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial. 

· Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.  

· Ability to communicate well with customers and co-workers (written, verbal, and presentation)

· Experience in effectively influencing and leading personnel and the ability to write business reports in a well-organized manner

· Strong team skills

· Strong problem-solving skills

· Proficiency with project management software
